About Debbie Denke

Professional jazz pianist, author of several instructional and practical books + CDs for jazz/church/various styles of keyboard improvisation. Debbie Denke is a classically trained pianist with a passion for jazz improvisation and a dedicated teacher. She performs as a soloist and ensemble player for private parties, as a vocal accompanist for jazz singers, gospel choirs, is additionally a vocalist, multi denominational church, and wedding pianist. Debbie is married to musician Robert Kim Collins (jazz bassist, singer, multi-instrumentalist, voice artist) and together they have two daughters who keep very busy with dance, music, professional and scholastic endeavors from California to South Korea.

  3. Debbie – I just saw your video and commented on it that you posted 18 hours ago. I just found an old book that I purchased in the 90s but never actually learned jazz which is such a shame. I’ve been looking at online programs but all of them seem confusing and sort of jump in the middle. I opened your book with a sigh of relief that you start at the very beginning with the triads. I no longer have this track that comes with the book. You have it downloaded a bowl or if I could purchase just the track since I already have the book. Thank you so much. I feel like I’ve discovered a treasure this morning by finding your books and a stack of old piano books. I play at an intermediate level and can improvise by ear, but have no idea where to start with formally learning jazz
